Our Vanlife Adventure Begins –

November 17, 2024

It’s official: we are starting our vanlife journey! Our home on four wheels is ready, and the road is calling. But before diving into the open road, let’s take a moment to look back.

Saying Goodbye to Our Flat – May 15, 2024

After over four years in Linz, Austria, moving from shared flats to our first own apartment and experiencing lockdown during the beginning of our studies, it was time to say goodbye to our beautiful home. Leaving was part of our journey. With the end of our Bachelor studies, our time in Austria also came to an end.

Back in Frankfurt – July 1, 2024

Starting a new chapter in my hometown felt more like stepping backward. The “home” I had built for myself in Linz was missing. After years of independence, I suddenly faced old structures and a city that felt unfamiliar. Frankfurt was no longer “mine,” and I felt like I wasn’t myself either.

Summer 2024 – Between Stagnation and Longing

It was a summer unlike any before, no travels, no gatherings, no spontaneous getaways. I searched for jobs and distractions, but nothing fit. The emptiness was too vast, and the longing for freedom too strong.

And then, one thought quietly resurfaced: Vanlife.

The dream of a home on four wheels, traveling the world without losing connection, shaping life by our own rules, together, with our dog, somewhere in the open. From this thought, a plan emerged. From the plan came the first day on the road.

November 17, 2024 – The Start of Our Vanlife Journey

The moment had finally arrived – we were off!

For weeks, we researched, bought, repacked, and experimented. Countless bags, boxes, and ideas slowly turned into a real camper home. Everything we might need was thoughtfully stored. And then, suddenly, we were inside, ready for the first leg of our road trip adventure.

Austria was our first destination. Our first night was spent at a familiar spot we had visited when buying the van, a symbolic start for this new chapter.

And then came that one unforgettable moment: sitting in the van, engine running, road ahead, everything felt different. No one knew whether this was a world trip or a temporary escape from everyday life. But we felt it: this was the beginning of something big.

First Coffee, First Freedom

What I’ll never forget? The first coffee in the van. Simple, yet everything. The aroma, the cup in my hand, the world outside the window and the knowledge that from now on, every morning could look different.

I’ll take you along on this journey, honest, unfiltered, capturing the small moments that make vanlife so special. Maybe you’ll find inspiration here for your own adventure.
